Monthly & Emergency Hampers
Food Hamper Programs are available to registered clients of EBN. In order to become a registered client, individuals are asked to contact the Program Coordinator to set up an appointment to complete a Food Bank Application Form.
Hampers are distributed to the clients living in the RM of Gimli, RM of Armstrong, Town of Winnipeg Beach, Village of Dunnottar and surrounding areas. In 2014, 1515 hampers were provided to 2,289 adults and 1,200 children in the areas as follows:

Food Hamper Day is every Thursday, January - November. Registered clients of EBN may receive two regular hampers per month, a minimum of two weeks apart. Clients are asked to phone 1-204-642-9736 Ext. 3, and set up a specific appointment time. Calls must be made no later than 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Smaller emergency hampers are also available to those in immediate need.
Christmas Hamper & Toy Program
The EBN Christmas Hamper Program runs in December of every year. Clients are asked to register for a Christmas Hamper prior to a specific cut off date. Hampers include a combination of non perishable and perishable goods, along with presents for children under 17 years of age.
Food Distribution Hub
In partnership with Winnipeg Harvest, on the Third Wednesday of every month, EBN receives and distributes shipments of up to 10,000 lbs. of food and other items. These shipments are shared with Riverton Food Bank, Selkirk Food Bank and Brokenhead Ojibway Nation.
Educational Workshops are offered periodically and are designed to meet the specific and ongoing needs of our clients.
Customized Work Experience Program
Customized Work Experience Programs are available to individuals who need to build their skills, gain work experience and acquire a work place reference.
Community Service Programs
EBN offers two Community Service Programs. One is for Gimli High School Students and it allows them to earn a credit by volunteering for 110 hours. The second is through the Fine Options Program and provides the opportunity for individuals to pay fines by doing a predetermined number of volunteer hours.
Life Essentials Program
The Life Essentials Program is for registered clients of EBN. This program provides clients, with used clothing, specific household items, and furniture through a waiver system. All applications for this program are approved on an individual basis.
Emergency Relief Program
The Emergency Relief Program is available to anyone in the community that has an urgent need of used clothing, household items and or furniture due to an emergency situation.
Once a month, from October - June, EBN hosts a Community Dinner in The Cafè. By invitation, EBN clients and members of the community are invited to enjoy, free of charge, a delicious home cooked meal and an evening of entertainment. It is usually scheduled on a Monday night from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM.
