Evergreen Basic Needs operates EBN POS, an internal point-of-sale system used by Evergreen Basic Needs Thrift Store.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when EBN POS is used, including when it connects to Clover devices for payment processing.

Information EBN POS Handles

EBN POS may collect and store operational information required to process and record store transactions, including:

• Transaction amounts

• Items or sales categories

• Payment method

• Transaction date and time

• Register information

• Employee or staff identifiers associated with a transaction

• Clover payment transaction identifiers and payment status

• Refund, void, or payment-result information where applicable

EBN POS does not require customers to create accounts and is not intended to collect customer profiles for marketing purposes.

Payment Card Information

Card-present payments are processed using Clover payment devices and Clover payment services.

EBN POS does not collect or store sensitive payment-card information such as:

• Full credit or debit card numbers

• Card security codes (CVV/CVC)

• PIN numbers

• Magnetic stripe data

• EMV chip data

Sensitive payment information is handled by Clover and its payment-processing systems.

EBN POS may receive and retain limited payment-related information from Clover, such as payment status, transaction identifiers, payment amount, payment type, and other information necessary to reconcile or manage a transaction.

Information handled by EBN POS is used only for legitimate operational purposes of Evergreen Basic Needs, including:

• Processing retail transactions

• Maintaining sales records

• Reconciling cash and electronic payments

EBN POS does not use transaction information for third-party advertising, behavioural advertising, or the sale of marketing profiles.

Evergreen Basic Needs takes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect information handled by EBN POS.

Access to EBN POS and its administrative functions is restricted to authorized personnel.

Payment-card information is processed through Clover rather than being stored directly by EBN POS.

Operational and transaction records may be retained for accounting, reporting, audit, troubleshooting, legal, and business-record purposes.

Records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by applicable law.

Clover Services

​

EBN POS integrates with Clover services and Clover payment devices.

Clover operates its own systems and processes payment information according to Clover's own privacy and security practices. Evergreen Basic Needs does not control Clover's independent handling of information submitted directly to Clover.

Children's Information

EBN POS is a retail point-of-sale system and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
