FOOD BANK

Evergreen Basic Needs Food Bank Policies

Anyone requiring information on EBN Food Bank Hamper Programs is asked to contact Kelly-Sue Chobotiuk, Program Coordinator, at (204) 642-9736 ext.3.

Anyone wishing to participate in the Monthly and/or Christmas Hamper Programs needs to be a registered client with EBN. In order to become a registered client, individuals are asked to set up an appointment with the Program Coordinator. New clients will be asked to complete a Food Bank Application Form, providing their contact information, Manitoba Health Registration Card and Number, and their source of income. Applicants will also provide information on any children and other adults living in the household. This information will be kept strictly confidential.

Each client is responsible for informing EBN of any changes in their information throughout the year, so records can be updated.

Clients receiving monthly and /or Christmas Hampers from EBN should not access other food banks at the same time. In doing so, they may forfeit their privileges with EBN.

Monthly Hamper Program

Food Hamper Day is Thursday. Each household is entitled to two hampers per month, a minimum of two weeks apart. The first hamper includes eggs and fresh fruit, while the second hamper does not. Milk is provided in the first hamper for families with children 12 years of age and under.

To receive a hamper, clients are asked to phone (204) 642-9736 Ext. 3, and set up a specific appointment time. Calls can be made Monday or Tuesday until 3:30 pm. If no one answers please leave a message stating your name and phone number. All calls and messages are confidential and will be returned as soon as possible.

When picking up your hamper, to maintain confidentiality and to avoid wait time for others, please come at your scheduled time. If you are going to be late, please call to let us know.

Emergency Hampers

Smaller Emergency Hampers are available to those in immediate need.
